Splash Swim School COVID-19 Update

Dear friends of Splash,

During these uncertain times we want to be proactive and transparent to ensure that everyone we work with is receiving accurate up to date information. Unfortunately we have had two lifeguards test positive for COVID19 within the past week. The Larimer County Health Department has traced and interviewed everyone who they deemed an “exposure risk” associated with the affected individuals and have notified them to quarantine for a period of time. Any employee or pool user who has not been contacted by the health department is not part of that “exposure risk” group and therefore no further action is required. The Larimer County Health Department has determined that all appropriate measures for public safety have been met. Thankfully both of the Splash employees are doing very well and have already made a full recovery.

Since we were made aware of the positive tests we have been working closely with the health department throughout the testing and contact tracing process. Due to our thorough record keeping and employee monitoring we have been able to easily supply the health department with all information they have needed. We are doing everything we can to support our staff, our clients and our community. Again, please understand that if you have not been contacted by us or the health department directly, this situation does not affect you or your pool. None of the other staff members who worked with the two positive cases have shown any symptoms of COVID, regardless, they will be self isolating and not returning to work until 14 days since they were in contact with the positive workers.

We just finished a call with the Colorado Department of Health and Environment and they have assured us we have done everything we can do in this regard. They nor Larimer County Health Department are recommending or requiring us to close any of our facilities.

Please know we take this very seriously. We have had in place for the entirety of the season a requirement that all employees self screen before starting each shift, they are also screened by us before each shift and are required to wear masks anytime they are indoors or are working within 6 feet of others. We will continue to review our COVID guidelines and improve upon them throughout the season. Fortunately this has NOT affected Splash Swim School. Neither employee who tested positive worked at the swim school nor have they entered the building in the past 3 weeks.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be smart, safe and to comply with all Federal/State/local guidelines when it comes to the safety of our community. Anyone who is concerned about exposure should monitor for symptoms and contact their doctor if any symptoms develop. More information is available on the https://www.larimer.org/health/communicable-disease/coronavirus-covid-19. If you would like to speak with the health department concerning this issue feel free to contact Katie O’Donnell @ kodonnell@larimer.org, 970-646-1756.

Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
