Lifeguard Certification Classes

We are offering Red Cross Lifeguard Training courses to participants who are 15 years old on or before the first day of the course. All courses are blended learning, meaning participants will complete a portion of the course online prior to the in-classroom sessions. Access to a computer and reliable internet is required. Spaces are limited.

The cost of the course includes the certification and CPR resuscitation mask.  Certification includes Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid.

Lifeguard Instructor Training

The Lifeguarding Instructor course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses including Lifeguarding Shallow Water Lifeguarding Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding Waterpark Skills Waterfront Skills CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Bloodborne Pathogens Training. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the first in-person session of the instructor course.

Prerequisites

  1. Minimum age: 17 years
  2. Possess a current Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid
  3. Ability to successfully demonstrate all Lifeguarding and CPR skills including a precourse assessment to perform a water rescue (submerged drowning) extrication single rescuer CPR for 3 minutes.

Swim Lesson Instructor Training

Learn the skills required to teach swim lessons through Splash’s Water Wise program.

This certification is intended for people who have been hired to work with Splash Swim School and Pool Services.

Employment Application

Attendance of all in-person training sessions is required for certification.

After successful completion of the classroom and in-pool training sessions, there is an additional co-teaching requirement.  New instructors are paired with Splash certified instructors at Splash Swim School prior to the start of the summer swim season.  Certification is valid after successful completion of co-teaching.
